Meditation Your Way

Do you meditate? When do you meditate? Are you meditating and just don’t realize it? There are many different forms of meditation. Most of you have heard that one of the most common ways to meditate is in the morning and at night at the same time every day. Some may say you need to meditate at least 5 minutes a day to get started and gradually increase to 15 to 30 minutes a day. Deepak Chopra meditates 2 hours in the morning from 4am – 6am and 2 hours in the afternoon from 4pm-6pm every day.  Well I don’t think that would work for me. I am not an early person and he does it sitting up so he does not go back to sleep. Some say walking is a form of meditation. How about going to the beach early in the morning and listening to the waves talk to you. You may have an altar in your home or office when you take a few minutes or as many minutes as you have time for.

I like to meditate during my cardio at the gym. I am usually on a treadmill or an elliptical machine. I get up on the cardio of my choice for the day and I get myself going. Once I am set I close my eyes and start to talk to God. I give gratitude for everything I have in my life. Once I am done with that I then start to say “Yes” to everything. For example; Yes to Life, Yes to my new home, Yes to my Reiki Practice and I keep it going. Near the end of my meditation I say Yes to my full potential that the Universe has for me. “YES!” I also have a dialogue throughout the day with God/Spirit. I give thanks for what I would like to have and know God/Spirit is taking care of it. The more you talk to Your Higher Self the more you develop that relationship and will begin to realize your full potential.

It does not matter how you meditate; just start a little each day and you will strengthen your relationship with your higher self and learn to trust it more and more. The traditional way is your way. My practice has helped me to listen to Spirit. One of my ways in keeping my discipline is by doing Reiki on myself and on others like I do at our weekly Reiki Circle. So don’t be afraid to “Meditate Your Way.” You can start TODAY!

Love & Light,

Rev. Scott
